In WPF when you place a BlobField in a ViewModelColumn you can set taggedvalue WindowsFileFilter to influence what files should be filtered out in the file open dialog.

If the blob is of blobtype Image we use this as default:

Image files (*.jpg, *.jpeg, *.jpe, *.jfif, *.png, *.gif) | *.jpg; *.jpeg; *.jpe; *.jfif; *.png; *.gif

If not blobtype Image we have it blank (all files show)
